The headline additions include rebuilt landscape navigation and library management, support for additional emulated platforms, improved controller handling, Netplay support for compatible Libretro cores, and a new rewind function. Taken together, it's one of the more significant updates the app has seen.
But the update comes with caveats that matter more than the feature list, and they're easy to miss if you're just skimming release notes. Dreamcast save states created with older versions of the app's Flycast core are not compatible with 2.0 - if you update without backing them up first, you risk losing them. Wii emulation now requires BootMii-format keys to function, which wasn't previously the case. GameCube and Wii performance is still described as a work in progress rather than fully optimized. And several less-common MAME systems have been removed from the platform list entirely.
